Price Adjustments in Microsoft’s Commercial Cloud Starting Next February

Ajustes de precios nube comercial Microsoft

Microsoft has announced a significant update to the pricing of its commercial cloud services with the goal of aligning them with global levels. This adjustment will affect several European currencies—specifically Swiss francs (CHF), Danish kroner (DKK), euros (EUR), Norwegian kroner (NOK), and Swedish kronor (SEK).

These changes will take effect on February 1, 2026. According to Microsoft’s official communications, the price reductions will vary depending on the currency and the service, with adjustments in many cases ranging between 5% and 10%. This range allows organizations to better plan their budgets and anticipate the real impact on their current subscriptions.

Microsoft has implemented this change with the intention of ensuring greater regional consistency. Specifically, the measure will affect commercial, educational, and nonprofit customers.

It is important to note that this update does not affect on-premises software. The changes will apply exclusively to cloud services, including Microsoft 365 and Office 365 (across Business, Enterprise, and Frontline plans), Dynamics 365, Power Platform solutions, Microsoft Intune, as well as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.

Benefits of price reductions in Microsoft’s commercial cloud

What does this price adjustment achieve? Here are a number of benefits:

  • Global price consistency. The new pricing aligns more closely with international levels, resulting in more balanced and consistent pricing.
  • End of market disparities. With reduced price differences between countries, organizations operating across multiple regions gain greater clarity when planning their technology costs.
  • Improved budget management. Harmonized pricing makes it easier to create new budgets and helps minimize regional pricing discrepancies.
  • More flexibility to adjust plans. With these lower prices, companies can better adapt to their real needs and financial capacity.
